Houston 8th Most Expensive City in America

Forbes magazine has come out with their list of the most expensive cities in America. Good Ole Houston Texas came in number 8.

The biggest reason Houston came in Number 8 is because of the sprawl here. This in turns drives up transportation cost for people living outside of Houston and driving into work, or vice versa!

Of course, if you live here in Houston, none of this comes as a surprise to you. We've known all along it takes a lot of gas to get around!

What Forbes doesn't mention is the many other things that are more affordable here than any other large city in the U.S.

Ummm...things like...HOMES! In fact, homes here are more affordable than real estate in a small community. It's no reason we're also one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S.

Of course, that is another list for later on. Actually, I did see a survey the other day that listed most of the Texas cities as having the most affordable housing in the U.S.

Also, Yahoo list Houston Texas at #6 for the Best Sellers Market.
